A New Brunswick author is going up against hundreds of authors worldwide for the prestigious Author Academy Award for her book called Haunted Heart, which is based in Saint John.
Laverne Stewart of Harvey Station says the book is a sort of supernatural romance and her first foray into fiction after being a journalist for 31 years.
” I never thought I had what it took to be a fiction writer, that takes a whole other part of the brain and skill set.
So I wrote this book six years ago as an exercise of just I wonder if I can do it” says Stewart.
Stewart says you can get the book at your local bookstore, or access a free chapter on Amazon. The top ten finalists will attend the Gala in Columbus Ohio in late October.
