New Brunswick Loses 1,100 Jobs In June

New Brunswick’s economy lost 1,100 jobs in June as the province’s unemployment rate climbed to 7.5 per cent from 7.3 per cent in May.

Statistics Canada says the province lost 2,300 full-time jobs and added about 1,300 part-time positions in June.

In June of last year, New Brunswick’s unemployment rate was at 7.9 per cent.

Nationally, there were 32,000 new jobs in June, but the unemployment rate went up 0.2 percentage points to six per cent as more people were looking for work.
