Arrests Made For Illegal Hunting In Charlotte County And Arsenal Of Weapons Seized

The Department of Justice and Public Safety has announced the seizure of more than 1300 pounds of moose and deer meat from illegal hunting in Charlotte County.

Numerous firearms, illegal drugs, a vehicle and other hunting equipment were confiscated with the arrests of 10 people.

Charges will be laid under the Fish and Wildlife Act. There could be charges laid as well under the federal Firearms Act and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The Department of Justice and Public Safety points out illegal hunting has a negative effect on moose and deer populations.
