Mobile Home Destroyed By Fire In Riverview

A mobile home in Riverview is likely to be a total loss after a fire Monday night.

Riverview Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief Mitch Short says they were called to Rivereast Drive, off Coverdale Road, just before 8 yesterday evening.

“First crews arrived on scene, they had fire showing through the roof, they made a quick entry, and it didn’t take that long for the initial knockdown but quite a bit of time to do overhaul, because it was up through the attic,” says Short.

He says the fire is not considered suspicious at this time, although the investigation into the cause is ongoing.

Nobody appeared to be in the building at the time, and no one was injured, however Short says the mobile home was definitely lived in.

Approximately 25 firefighters fought the blaze, and three fire suppression vehicles, one Rescue vehicle, and four utility vehicles were there.
