A 37-year old mail carrier from Campbellton had to be rushed to a hospital in Moncton after a collision Saturday.

Shortly before 3 in the afternoon, Northeast District RCMP were called to the scene of a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

During their investigation, police discovered the driver changed lanes, striking a man delivering mail on the side of the road.

The mail carrier was first taken to the hospital in Campbellton but later airlifted to Moncton with life threatening injuries.

The 45-year old driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene, however, the RCMP did not provide details on possible charges.
