Landmark Study On Nurse Practitioners

A landmark study has been released by researchers at U-N-B on the work being done by nurse practitioners in the province. This is the first such study since they were licensed to practise here in 2002.

The study found both patients and nurse practitioners report the benefits of the nurse practitioner role in primary health care.

There’s still a general lack of understanding of the nurse practitioner’s role among patients and within the health care system itself even though they work in the offices of family doctors, community based clinics, correctional facilities and the schools.
