New Codiac RCMP Superintendent To Focus On Accountability, Stewardship and Oversight

Some of the priorities of the new incoming superintendent for Codiac RCMP include accountability, stewardship, and proper oversight.

Tom Critchlow is a 28-year RCMP veteran taking over November 6th who says Codiac RCMP is doing great work, but they can get even better.

“What I’d like to see is just to see what we can improve upon, do some analysis and move forward, listen to the public, listen to our partners where we need to improve upon and move forward from there,” says Critchlow.

He adds they’ll continue making statistics more comprehensible to the general public.

“I believe that this is a great method for the public to be aware of what’s going on, and a great method as well to have the public be informed and be able to work with us as well,” says Critchlow.

He says every employee needs to know their responsibilities and “how they’ll get that done.”

“Our job is to ensure they have that know how, knowledge, equipment, and training so they can deliver on those things,” says Critchlow.

Outgoing Superintendent Paul Beauchesne is moving to National Headquarters in Ottawa as Director General in charge of Serious and Organized Crime and Border Integrity for Federal Policing.
