21st Guns And Hoses Event Planned For Moncton

It’s time to roll up your sleeves, alongside many of the emergency responders in Greater Moncton..

They’ll be taking part in the 21st Guns and Hoses blood donor clinic on Mapleton Road on July 26th.

RCMP Constable Marc-Olivier Vary says they deal with situations on a daily basis, where people may need blood, “We know that for major motor vehicle collisions, anyone involved can need up to 50 units. That’s 50 donors, and that’s just for a single person involved.”

The clinic will run from 10 until 6 tomorrow at the Mapleton Road and it is recommended that you book an appointment for your blood donation.

“Vary adds, “There will be volunteers from both Codiac RCMP and Moncton Fire, and it’s a little competition. I have been involved for the past three years and it is always packed. If you have not booked your appointment, sadly you will have to wait a little more. The goal is usually to see 80 units of blood donated, and I’ve never seen anything lower than that.”
