Snow crab fishing area 12 in the Gulf of St Lawrence has been closed, to help prevent the risk associated with the fishing gear in that area.
The latest right whale to be found dead in the Gulf has been towed to shore, and a necropsy is expected to be done today to determine the cause of death.
A total of eight whales have been found.
DFO has put disentanglements on hold for now, after the death of Joe Howlett, who was killed while setting a whale free from an entanglement..
