If you were hoping to head to Centennial Beach this afternoon to keep cool, you’re out of luck.
The City of Moncton has closed the beach temporarily due to a significant maintenance issue, and the beach is currently inaccessible.
Crews are on the site and are looking at getting the issue fixed quickly so that residents and visitors can once again enjoy the beach.
The splash pad located in the park should open on Wednesday or Thursday of this week, so that will be an option to keeping you cool.
Construction on the new Centennial Beach project has begun and it is scheduled to open in the summer of 2018.
