The Chief of Staff for the Official Opposition is looking to get into the provincial legislature this fall.
Dominic Cardy will be running to be the candidate for Fredericton West-Hanwell when the nomination meeting is held next week.
If he is the chosen candidate it will be his second time going after the seat, but last time he did it as the NDP leader and narrowly lost to Brian Macdonald who has announced he is not re-offering.
Cardy joined the PCs in January 2017, he is 47, bilingual and has a long history of public service in Canada.
The nomination meeting is set for 7 p.m. on July 6th at the Upper Kingsclear Community Centre.
