Four groups are denouncing a relatively new nursing exam and say it discriminates against francophone students.
The Universite de Moncton, the Vitalite Health Network, CCNB and ACUFC (Association des colleges et universites de la francophonie canadienne) all say the chances of francophone students passing the exam is reduced.
The groups say the prep materials are not available in French and the exam was first developed in English and then translated into French.
When the old exam was last administered in 2014, U de M graduates had a success rate of 93 percent.
However, when the new exam was introduced the following year, the success rate had plunged to 32 percent.
The four groups are urging the Nurses Association of New Brunswick and Premier Brian Gallant to move quickly to correct the situation.
