Seven Coast Guard Boats Responding To Historic Flooding In Southern N.B.

Help from the Canadian Coast Guard is coming both by sea and air as boats and aircrafts have been tasked with responding to the historic flooding situation in southern New Brunswick.

Federal minister Dominic LeBlanc gave an update to media today at the sandbagging operation outside the Civic Centre in Quispamsis and says seven Coast Guard vessels have been deployed so far and helicopters are doing surveying.

LeBlanc says they are as a government standing by to respond to any request from the province.

“We have…Coastguard helicopters that are providing reconnaissance flights as we stand here now, we have other assets on standby,” says LeBlanc.

“The Assistant Commissioner told me there are Coast Guard personnel from across the country that are volunteering to come work with their colleagues.”
