Fire Departments From Greater Moncton Assist In Flooded Regions

New Brunswickers are stepping up and lending a helping hand to flood victims, that includes members of the three fire departments from Greater Moncton. departments

Trained swift water and boat technicians were requested by the province, and members of the three fire departments have the skills needed. Members of Riverview Fire and Rescue were deployed and have been working for the last few days helping to evacuate and rescue citizens in the Fredericton area.

Four firefighters from Dieppe Fire have been in the Oromocto area since Tuesday, and are expected to return home tonight, but District Chief Marc Cormier says they are going to assess further and will stay as long as they are needed.

The water rescue boat from the Moncton Fire Department was also deployed to the Grand Bay area yesterday along with four firefighters. They’re assisting with everything from medical emergencies, evacuations, as well as rescues and transportation.
