Toronto police say 10 people have now died after a person driving a white van plowed into several pedestrians.
Police say it happened around 1:45 p.m. local time Monday in the area of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue East.
Fifteen others were taken to local hospitals, including some in critical condition.
The van involved in the incident was located soon after and the driver was taken into custody.
He’s been identified by police as 25-year-old Alek Minassian of Richmond Hill.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted that thoughts are with all those affected by this terrible incident, adding they’re monitoring the situation closely.
