Legislature Committee To Address Harassment Allegations Against Suspended Speaker

It has been five days since Moncton Centre MLA Chris Collins was suspended as Speaker of the New Brunswick Legislature amid allegations of harassment.

Finance Minister Cathy Rogers says Premier Brian Gallant has said all that can be said for now.

“The Legislative Administration Committee will be partnering with the executive branch of government, and will be hiring a third party investigator to look at allegations,” says Rogers.

The Committee is meeting this afternoon, and has ten members, consisting of seven Liberals, two Progressive Conservatives, and one Green Party member:

  1. Hon. Mr. Chris Collins (L), Chair
  2. Mr. Bernard LeBlanc (L), Vice Chair
  3. Ms. Monique LeBlanc (L)
  4. Hon. Mr. Roger Melanson (L)
  5. Hon. Mr. Rick Doucet (L)
  6. Mr. Hédard Albert (L)
  7. Mr. Daniel Guitard (L)
  8. Mr. Bill Oliver (PC)
  9. Mr. Stewart Fairgrieve (PC)
  10. Mr. David Coon (GP)

Rogers says they are respecting the proper process, and a full investigation will be completed.
