Anglophone East STEM Expo Underway At NBCC Moncton

Over 260 students in grades 3 to 12 are taking part in this year’s STEM Expo at NBCC Moncton.

“STEM stands for Science Technology Engineering Mathematic, and the role or purpose of STEM is to introduce students to skills based learning and to showcasing their abilities through critical thinking, problem solving and discovery,” says Education Support Teacher for Anglophone East Bryan Ouelette.

Ouelette says there are a variety of different projects, “Students who have coded a new type of software, others are working on robotics, and even those who are working on a watershed problems and solutions.”

All 37 schools in Anglophone East are taking part.

The Expo is open to the public until 4 today, but Ouelette says the best time for viewings is at around 2:30pm.

The winners of this year’s Expo will move on to the next level of competition at the River Valley Regional Fair, in Fredericton.
