People’s Alliance Party leader Kris Austin says the non-confidence vote against the Gallant Liberal government was about more than just the throne speech.
“We had to stay true to ourselves, we had to stay true to our supporters and that’s what we did today.”
Austin added his party is in nobody’s back pocket and will assess things on a bill by bill basis under a Higgs PC government.
He acknowledges his party does have some similarities with the Progressive Conservatives in terms of platforms and says his party will push ahead with the areas that they both agree on.
Austin had previously stated he would support a minority government for at least 18 months.
