The first 48 hours of recreational marijuana legalization proved to be sales bonanza for Cannabis NB.
The Crown Corporation tallied almost $950,000 in sales from its website and retail stores on October 17th and 18th.
More than $71,000 was spent online while retail store sales exceeded $872,000.
The Fredericton region recorded the strongest sales followed by Saint John and Greater Moncton.
Cannabis NB acknowledges a shortage of products and notes how it did not receive a full shipment as ordered prior to the launch date but added retailers across Canada are facing a similar situation.
The cannabis retailer also says store closures are not expected in the near term based on upcoming shipments.
