A 24-year-old Saint John man is going to jail for a year after a guilty plea to accessing child pornography.
Mark Donald David Colwell will spend another year on probation.
He was arrested less than a year ago after an investigation by the RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.

The investigation started in June 2016 after information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre led to a search at a Saint John home on October 18th 2017 where several electronic devices were taken and a man was arrested.
In August, Mark Colwell appeared in court in Saint John and was charged with accessing child pornography, he plead guilty and was sentenced on October 4.
He’s also under strict conditions to have no contact with children for a decade and will be added to the National Sex Offender Registry for 20 years.
