Moncton Fire Rescues Injured Woman In Centennial Park

An accident in Centennial Park, led to a rescue by Moncton Fire.

Platoon Chief Dennis Dollemont says at around 12:30 yesterday, a woman who was skiing on the trails, fell, and broke a part of her shoulder or upper arm.

“We went in with an off-road vehicle and located her on the Lynx trail. Because of the proximity to Bernice MacNaughton High School, we were able to get her out within minutes. The difficult part in locating an individual is there are different trails that lead off from the main trail, but we were able to find her quickly by using a GPS.”

Dollemont says this is the first time they have had to use their off road vehicle this year.

In this situation, the woman had a friends with her, who called 911. Dollemont suggests that if you are heading out onto the trails, be sure to carry a cell phone with you, in case anything happens. That will make it easier for emergency responders to locate you.
