Atlantic Wellness Centre Receives Financial Boost From Provincial Government

More Counselling hours will be offered by the Atlantic Wellness Centre this year, thanks to a grant from the provincial government.

Finance Minister Cathy Rogers was on hand yesterday for the presentation of a $50, 000 grant.

“Because of the great family therapy, individual therapy and great upstream work that you do, it is my please to give you this grant. You are helping young people to be successful in school. When you help them deal with life issues and personal challenges, you are helping them be successful in education, Rogers said.

Executive Director Andrew Leblanc says they are projecting this year they will be able to provide 8900 hours of mental health services.

“That includes direct therapy and wraparound service, which include parent consultation and working with a broader stakeholder network connection for your youth,” Leblanc says.

The Atlantic Wellness Centre provides free mental health services to youth.

The Centre recently moved from Riverview to a new location on Lutz Street.
