PEI RCMP Find Traces Of Fentanyl After Drug Seizures

As the concern over Fentanyl continues to grow, RCMP in PEI are confirming a recent seizure, contained the dangerous drug.

Police say they seized three distinct types of pills that contained Fentanyl.

The first was green coloured with a stamp similar to Oxycontin. A blue Percocet was also seized, along with Xanax pills that are white yellow or green in colour…

These were found during two recent seizures in Queens County, PEI.

RCMP says two milligrams of pure Fentanyl is enough to kills the average adult, and because it is odourless and tasteless, it is hard to detect.

The effects of Fentanyl occur very quickly after use, and anyone who believes they may have come into contact with this drug should seek immediate medical attention.

Police and Health authorities are recommending that if you see someone is experiencing overdose symptoms, call 911 immediately.
