Power Restored To Province After Major Ice Storm In NB

It’s something we haven’t seen in at least two weeks.

The number of NB Power outages across the province now sits at zero.

This for the first time since an ice storm hit the province two weeks ago, leaving the Acadian Peninsula, the hardest hit, with many downed trees and power poles..

The Canadian Armed forces began phasing out the troops yesterday, ….and volunteers remain on stand by…..

The provincial government plans to re-evaluate the situation today…

A reminder to those who have been impacted….you can inquire about Disaster Financial Assistance.

Residents who have suffered damages should register immediately so that health and safety inspections can take place.

Applications are available online and have been distributed to warming centres/shelters. Residents are encouraged to apply for Disaster Financial Assistance despite the deductible. Applications are being evaluated on a case by case basis…and the provincial government says the deductible could be waived for those who demonstrate financial challenges.
