Three months ago, a new bag was introduced for waste in the City of Moncton.
To this point, Eco 360 has been pretty flexible with their rotating pick-up schedule.
But Waste Diversion Coordinator Genna Alderson says starting this week they are going to be cracking down.
“We’re gonna start enforcing the schedule, so what we really want to focus on there, is people are putting out the right coloured bags on the rotating schedule,” says Alderson. “If you put out the wrong coloured bag it’ll be left behind, we won’t be picking it up.”
Alderson says to this point the residents are doing a great job, using the new clear bag.
They are seeing a big difference already, with a 20% increase in the materials they are recycling.
