Atlantic Wellness Community Centre Offers New Hope For Youth Who Need Counselling

For youth who may be starting out the new year, looking for someone to talk to, to better themselves, The Atlantic Wellness Community Centre may be exactly what you need.

Counselling Therapist Jason Jones says the Centre gives youth between the ages of 12 and 21, a place to go, to talk in confidence, “I know it is a hard first step sometimes to come and talk to someone but at the centre, we have three full times therapists and all of us, it is just a very comfortable environment. The youth don’t feel judged, they can connect with an adult and they can share things and talk about things, that won’t get back to the parents or the school. It’s a private, confidential place for them to process everything.”

The Counselling sessions are free at the centre in Riverview, and Jones says they have reasonable wait times. They also do some outreach programs as well in the schools and communities..
