Float Spa Offers New Way Of Clearing The Mind

A new type of therapy, has clients clearing their minds, with the help of water.

It’s called a float spa.

Founder of the Kini Wellness Float Spa and Mindfulness Center Cindy O’Donnell says it has been around for many years, but it has only become more mainstream in the last three to five years. It is currently very popular in Western Canada, but this is the very first float spa in New Brunswick, “The water is heated at your body temperature, so essentially you do not feel anything. If you close the cover, turn off the lights, turn off the music and close your eyes, it is essentially a sensory deprivation-like experience.”

This helps to clear your mind, “You would float for an hour, by depriving all of your senses. We are constantly bombarded by a lot of stimulus especially in this day and age with technology and everything, so we don’t reconnect with our mind as often as we should, “O’Donnell adds.

O’Donnell says some clients say they could float for hours, while as others only need a half hour to feel completely relaxed.

The centre is located at 171 Lutz Street, Suite 102.

They will hold there grand opening ceremony on Saturday, January 14th from 1pm to 9pm, with open door visits from 1pm to 5:30pm.
