A house is heavily damaged after an early morning fire in a Moncton suburb.
Platoon Chief Brian Gaudet says they were called to 88 Erinvale Drive at 7 this morning.
“A passerby had noticed fire coming from the roof and called it in, when we arrived we had about a six foot wide hole burning through the roof, and we actually had fire on three levels,” says Gaudet.

He says the fire was in the basement, main floor and in the attic as well.
Gaudet says they were successful at first with an aggressive posture, but the fire eventually overwhelmed them and they had to go to a defensive position.

According to a neighbour, the residents were on vacation and Fire Prevention is trying to reach them.
