More Canadians are shopping online to find bargains during what has become known as Cyber Monday, which has been following Black Friday in recent years.
Moneris, the country’s largest processor of card transactions, says overall Canadians still spend 90 percent of their purchase dollars in-store.
But spokesperson Rob Cameron says Cyber Monday continues to grow for online retailers and their customers.
Since 2011, Cameron says there have been double digit gains in Cyber Monday shopping.
Cameron adds Canadians are doing a lot more browsing and shopping online using their phones which has prompted retailers to make their websites more mobile-friendly.
