A fellow Ward 4 City Councillor remembers Rene Pepsi Landry fondly.
Paul Pellerin says they worked together for the residents in Ward 4 since 2008, but he knew Landry long before that, “I’ve known Pepsi for most of my life, having gone to the Boys and Girls Club and Moncton Minor Baseball.”
Pellerin says one of Landry’s first priorities was always doing stuff on behalf of the city for the kids, especially the Boys and Girls Club. He didn’t speak often, but when he did, everyone listened, and he was like the Wise Owl of Council.
Rene Pepsi Landry passed away yesterday surrounded by friends and family after a battle with cancer.
He was 79 years old.
Our thoughts & prayers are w/ the friends & family of @CityofMoncton councillor & former MLA Rene ‘Pepsi’ Landry.
