Funnel clouds were spotted in northwestern New Brunswick yesterday when severe thunderstorms moved into the province from Quebec.
However, Environment Canada says there have been no reports of tornadoes touching down in the province.
Meteorologist Bob Robichaud says some residents in the Grand Falls area may have spotted a tornado in neighbouring Maine.
“In one of those thunderstorms, there was a tornado reported in Maine and that thunderstorm that spawned the tornado was actually moving towards New Brunswick but it was weakening as it was moving towards New Brunswick,” he notes.
Robichaud says there were some reports of flash flooding from severe thunderstorms in western New Brunswick yesterday.
But he adds the humid weather has moved to the east which means we will enjoy cooler, drier conditions over the next few days.
