Capitol Theatre to Present “Oliver” in 2017

With the success of the Sound of Music at Capitol Theatre earlier this year. They’ve decided to put on an even bigger musical for 2017.

The Capitol Theatre will present “Oliver” in February and March next year.

Up to 40 performers are required for this upcoming production. Director Marshall Button says auditions will be held in late August, “We’re encouraging people who may be interested to get in touch with the Capitol Theatre. You can call the main line for information. Because it is professional, we ask for a photo and a CV of your experience. We are looking far and wide, but we are looking in our community first.”

Button says the roles will include everything from the main characters, to an ensemble, “One minute you might be moving a piece of furniture and the next, you could be holding an axe and singing.”

This will be Capitol Theatres second big musical theatre production. They have once again teamed up with the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra’s Tutta Musica for this professional performance.

Ten presentations will run from February 25 to March 5, 2017. Tickets will go on sale in early September.
