Canadian Union Of Postal Workers Calls Off 30-Day Cooling Off Period

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers have rejected Canada Post’s offer to continue negotiations over a 30-day cooling off period that would allow mail to keep moving.

The union rejected the offer because it came with the condition that it would have to agree to binding arbitration if a deal could not be reached, which would ultimately give up its right to negotiate a deal.

Canada Post could lock out more then 50,000 unionized workers starting Monday.
