The hotly debated free tuition legislation announced earlier this year by the province government is officially law.
Post Secondary Education Minister Donald Arseneault says this is a historic day for the province, and the Tuition Access Bursary will increase access to post secondary education.
He adds the TAB is not just a post secondary financing program, but an aspect of economic development and a way to help keep talented youth in New Brunswick.
The bursary provides free tuition to New Brunswick students with demonstrated financial need from a household with an annual income under $60,000.

Meanwhile Interim Progressive Conservative Leader Bruce Fitch is not pleased about the legislation, nor the fact it passed.

The New Brunswick Student Alliance tweeted earlier they were hopefull the political leaders could work together to pass this bill to avert delays that would have a devastating impact on students.
