President Barack Obama says this was a vicious, calculated and despicable attack on law enforcement.
He says we don’t know all of the facts, just yet, “What we do know is that police in Dallas were on duty doing their jobs, keeping people safe during protests. According to police, there are multiple suspects. We will learn more undoubtedly about their twisted motivations, but let’s be clear, there’s no possible justification for these kinds of attacks.”
The President met with Mayor Rawlings and said that he is horrified over these events. He says today is a wrenching reminder of the sacrifices that law enforcement officers make for Americans.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted this morning, “Canadians are shocked by the cowardly attacks against police in Dallas. Our solidarity is with all victims of violence on this tragic week.”
