UNB Trio Places 2nd At International Game Development Competition

Three UNB students placed second and won $2500 dollars in the international student game development competition, Games4Health.

Fredericton native Rebecca Goodine says the goal was to design a game that engages people to live healthier lives.

The plot of their game, called ‘Guide’, is about a bird that wakes up alone and scared when a guide approaches.

Goodine says you realize through the game that the guide might not have the best perception of the world around you, which represents social anxiety.

The game is still in the development stages, but Goodine says it will be showcased at the Jalloo Animation Festival in Miramichi.

Goodine plans on continuing to work in gaming animation and plans on going to Europe this fall in Switzerland to do some game studies.
