Campaign Launched To Stop Energy East Pipeline

The Green Party and Bloc Quebecois are launching a campaign to derail the Energy East pipeline.

Green Party leader Elizabeth May says the business case is not sound and the economics don’t add up. She says the fundamental misconception is that exporting oil before it can be refined in Canada will be good for the economy.

Deputy Green Party Leader Daniel Green claims the Energy East pipeline will increase the risk of an oil spill through the more than 800 watercourses along the planned pipeline corridor with the loss of agricultural lands and forests.
