Moosehead President and CEO Supports Free-Trade In Canada

The provincial government is appealing a court ruling that threw out limits on imported alcohol from other provinces.

President and CEO Andrew Oland says he supports free-trade in Canada.

Oland says there’s a tax issue where the taxes in Quebec are $2.50/dozen, and the taxes in New Brunswick are $9.75/dozen.

He says until the tax issue is addressed, it doesn’t matter what happens with free-trade.

Section 134(b) of the Liquor Control Act was stricken down recently, which prevents New Brunswickers from bringing alcohol into the province that was bought from someone other than NB Liquor.
