The Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce has conducted a study to find out more about how the business community feels about the economy.
More than 130 businesses took part in the economic outlook survey.
CEO Carol O’Reilly says despite different perceptions about the economy, it’s not all doom and gloom here.
“The survey showed 95 percent of the businesses said they are going to have the same number of employees or more than they had the previous year. So this tells us there is confidence,” she notes.
O’Reilly says the business community is also concerned about the aging demographic and hopes the region can keep young people here so they won’t leave for opportunities elsewhere.
