Strike Over At Covered Bridge Potato Chips

The president of the New Brunswick Federation of Labour says he was planning to buy a bag of Covered Bridge potato chips today.

Patrick Colford announced the five-month long strike at the Covered Bridge chip plant in Hartland is over.

During the strike, union officials had called for a boycott of the chips.

Colford says workers have voted in favour of a new deal which will give them job security, seniority, and a slight pay increase.

Covered Bridge President/CEO Ryan Albright says both sides worked hard to reach a resolution and he’s pleased the company can now move ahead with its expansion plans.

About 90 employees are due back at work next week.
