Habitat for Humanity broke ground today to help build another home in the City of Moncton.
The land was donated by the City of Moncton and is located at 26 Ayer Avenue.
Executive Director Ron Sherwood says the build will officially begin on May 16th, “By then, we’ll have water, sewer, all in place. We’ll have the walls up, and all ready to go. We’ll just have to lay the floor and put the partitions in place and move up to the top floor.”
This build is a little different than others. It is the first women’s build in the City of Moncton. They’re looking for around 200 women to make financial contributions or to donate their time, or both, to help build the duplex.
Sherwood says they expect to have the home finished by the fall.
To date, Habitat for Humanity has built 26 homes in Greater Moncton.
