A new smartphone app will help visitors and residents learn more about what’s available in the downtown.
The bilingual app is the product of months of work between the City of Moncton, Zonetail and Downtown Moncton Centreville Inc.
DMCI Executive Director Anne Poirier Basque says there are two main sections.
“The “Information” part is really what you’re going to be looking for as far as what is there to do all about the downtown,” says Poirier Basque.

She adds “the “Explore” side is if you’re wanting to go to a restaurant and want to know what the menu is that’s where you’re going to find it.

DMCI President Derek Martin says it will connect everyone whether they live here or are just visiting.
“I think it helps us move forward to be the downtown of the future, not the downtown of yesterday or today,” says Martin. “So I’m really excited because I think we have to try to push these things, and innovate and try to look to the future.”
He says the launch of this app is a great step in the right direction.
“I think it helps either people living and working downtown as well as visitors coming in to get them into the businesses, into these buildings to see the right events a lot quicker,” says Martin. “So I think it unites everyone, it connects everyone and is great for the future.”
The app includes information on businesses, services, entertainment, restaurants, bus schedules, and more.
