Moncton and Dieppe are the joint successful bid for the 9th Games of La Francophonie in 2021.
The official word came from the games permanant council in Paris yesterday.
Moncton Stadium is expected to play host for many of the sporting and cultural events of the games.
The only other city in the running was Sherbrooke, Quebec which endorsed the New Brunswick bid last month.
The event could attract as many as 3,000 athletes from nearly 60 countries.
The province estimates the sporting and cultural event could bring in $25 million in economic spinoffs.
