The Moncton mayoral race is officially underway with a second candidate running for the city’s top job.
Longtime councillor Brian Hicks made the announcement today.
Hicks describes himself as frugal and he says that may be the main difference between him and the other mayoral candidate Dawn Arnold.
“The best way to answer that… and I’m not going to answer it… would be to go back and check council minutes. But there’s quite a fundamental difference in voting pattern,” he notes.
Hicks only decided to run recently, noting how important the position is and he feels it shouldn’t be won by acclamation.
Hicks believes in a fiscally-responsible approach and that city business should be conducted in an open and transparent way.
