The provincial government is creating 39 jobs in the hard-hit community of Sussex as a result of $365,000 in investments in three local businesses.
Those three businesses are Alantra Leasing, Mrs Dunster’s and Timberparts. Another business will be announcing another 50 jobs in the area according to the province. Premier Brian Gallant says the securing of the 89 jobs in the Sussex area is a start – he says the government and himself personally are here to do whatever they can to help.
As many as 430 people lost their jobs earlier this year with the indefinite closure of the $2-million mine at Picadilly by PotashCorp of Saskatchewan. Some of those jobs paid as much as $105,000 a year.
