Local Organization Providing Support Through Dog Therapy

A dog can provide love and support for those in need whether it be a family member or someone else who is struggling mentally or physically.

That’s where Therapy Tailblazers comes in.

Coordinator Anne Caron says they are passionate group of dog owners, whose four legged fur babies offer assistance to the public.

“We it in nursing homes, we do individual visits or group visits as well,” says Caron. “We do group visits in local area schools, we visit universities at exam time, and we also do child programs.”

Caron says they do not provide the same services as service dogs do.

Service dogs give medical assistance to one person, and they have been specifically trained for that.

Therapy dogs are family pets who are invited in to help others de-stress or to spread a little love and joy to another person.
