The provincial government is looking at the idea of adding a stat holiday to February.
That’s according to Social Development Minister Cathy Rogers.
She says they won’t rush into any decision and will take their time to study all angles.
“Of course there are benefits and some disadvantages to this as are expressed by different groups, we think that it’s a very good time to consider making a family day for New Brunswick,” says Rogers.
She adds that would bring us in line with many other provinces which all have holidays in February to break up the long dark stretch between New Year’s and Good Friday.
She was unable to provide a firm date for a decision from the government.
