Moncton Centre MLA Says Syrian Refugees Will Mean Growth For Metro Moncton

A local MLA is proud of our community for all of the work they have done to welcome syrian refugees into Moncton.

Over 150 are already calling Moncton home and more are expected in the coming weeks.

Moncton Centre MLA Chris Collins says the refugees will mean positive growth for our city, “I tip my hat to all of the volunteers who have taken part in welcoming the Syrian refugees. This is the country that I was brought up in, and I’m very proud of our province and out country. I’m exceedingly proud to see how well our community has come out and met our new Canadians.”

Many of the refugees are under the age of 14, and are enrolling in the Anglophone East school system..and are currently getting ready to learn more about what school is like. They will also learn English as a second language
