Man Faces Arson Charge In Port Elgin House Fire

A 64-year-old man remains in hospital under police supervision following a house fire in Port Elgin.

Donald MacRae is facing a charge of arson and once he recovers, RCMP say they have an arrest warrant to take him into custody.

Early last Sunday in a span of thirty minutes, Mounties responded to three incidents in the Port Elgin area.

The first was a single vehicle crash on Highway 16, the second was a man causing a disturbance at a home and the third was a house fire.

Police later found the fire was deliberately set.
