Former Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Eilish Cleary and the provincial government have reached a settlement over her dismissal back on December 7th.
The termination caused a lot of controversy with provincial NDP leader Dominic Cardy calling for an independent investigation.
Taxpayers will not know any details of the settlement. A joint statement has been released saying it will remain confidential and there will be no further comment.
Dr. Cleary earlier had claimed she was fired without cause. The provincial government never offered up an explanation and would only say it was a personnel matter.
